Voronoi Pattern Studies

Four sets of seed families, each with the inner copy at four sizes

Sixteen studies in a four by four grid: columns by the size of the inner copy (0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1.25), rows by seed families

Overview

Voronoi Pattern fills every cell with a Voronoi grown from seeds placed on purpose, not at random, so the pattern repeats exactly from cell to cell. The seeds come from seven families, on the cell and on an inner copy of it scaled about its centroid: Pattern picks the combination and Inner sets the copy’s size.

Sixteen studies, one definition. Rows are four combinations of seed families, each with at least one on the inner copy; columns are Inner at 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75, and at 1.25, where the copy outgrows the cell and its seeds land outside it. Every study runs one Hex Grid, size 30, over its own 120 × 120 in region (23 cells); only Pattern and Inner change.

Centroid + InnerVert

Pattern 58: a seed at the centre of each cell and one at each corner of the inner copy.

OuterMid + InnerVert

Pattern 27: a seed at the middle of each cell edge and one at each corner of the inner copy.

OuterVert + InnerMid

Pattern 14: a seed at each corner of the cell and one at the middle of each inner edge.

OuterMid + InnerMid + InnerVert

Pattern 31: three families, the middle of each cell edge and the middles and corners of the inner copy.
